I remember in the early 50s one of the crowd pleasing things to do
Syncopated Monkey
Dangerous Dan McGrew (supposedly based on a true life Alaska event)
Little Nash Rambler (this became later a shortened version called
"Beep Beep")
These were not simple little verses they were maybe 5-10
minutes long and as you can tell I was never skilled enough to "Rap"
them and was always amazed when I would see it performed
Does anyone have the words to any of these or was I the
only person dazzled
I heard that in 1968 in Vietnam from a Southerner. Don't remember the words, just remember listening to it entranced. There was a rhythm to it that made you want to move in time with the words.Syncopated Monkey
